STAR Campus: Post-editing machine translation with Transit NXT
STAR Campus: Post-editing machine translation with Transit NXT
In this free webinar, you will learn how to use Transit's translation editor to post-edit machine translation output, as well as about how machine translation can help to improve translation memory proposals.
How do I use Transit to post-edit a machine translation?
Translation Memory (TM) or Machine Translation (MT)? It's not an either/or decision, but rather a spectrum. The Transit translation memory system combines the best of both worlds: the quality of fuzzy matches from a validated translation memory with the efficiency of a trained MT engine.
In this webinar, you will learn about how to use the Transit editor for projects with MT support and which features you need to know in order to get started with post-editing.
Webinar content
We begin with the following question: "What does it mean for you as a translator to receive a project with MT support?"
We will then discuss how you can take advantage of the additional translation suggestions that, as TM-validated MT results, provide a new level of quality in machine translation.
Finally, we will show you how you can post-edit in the familiar environment of the Transit editor and ensure your quality assurance objectives by maintaining control over MT segment translation quality.
Target audience
For translators and post-editors with prior knowledge of Transit.
This webinar is intended for participants who already have experience with the Transit editor.
If you are a translator or proofreader who wants to learn about the post-editing features in Transit, then this is the webinar for you.
